Hand in Hand has been working with at-risk children and young people in Belarus since 2002. Our primary work consists of organizing and running summer camps for children and teenagers
Traditionally, those camps took place on the grounds of orphanages and state-run boarding schools, but with time we were able to branch out to include tent camps in the Belarusian countryside.
These outdoor camps gave us the opportunity to provide a similar camp experience for children from at-risk families and those living in foster-care.
Covid-19, political unrest, and the war in Ukraine have prevented us from returning, but we still continue to support the children of Belarus from afar. We have also branched out to assist children and those in need in other parts of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
This year we are planning to serve in Kazakhstan.
